Suffolk Soiree

I didn’t post about my Suffolk adventures yesterday, as quite frankly I was rather tired. I realised that in ten days I had managed to travel to Yorkshire, London, Cheshire, Oxford, London and then Suffolk, each time returning to Kent in between and having one night at home. It’s hardly jet lag, but it must be the English car-driving equivalent. Needless to say, I am still living out of my rucksack as I didn’t have chance to empty it last night. I have now emptied the entire contents onto my bed in an attempt to ensure that I sort it all before falling into bed!

Anyway, back to Suffolk and those sheep. Having never been to the East Angles before, I didn’t know quite what to expect. I must say, the county was lovely: beautiful countryside – not as flat as I had thought, which was a pleasant surprise; wonderful small towns/villages with arrangements of coloured timber-framed houses and beautiful Georgian town houses; and some magnificent churches, or more accurately “mini cathedrals”. I also managed to see Flatford Mill - Constable country - and had a lovely walk along the River Stour. Very impressed.
