| "This is just another
story to come out from Zimbabwe..."
"Tuesday Morning Quarterback will be back soon, along with
Megababes and Haiku! Excellent..."
"American politics is something that I enjoy. When you can't
find me on Slate, you'll find me watching the West Wing..."
Those were some of the first lines OJ Wooding uttered to the
world when he launched Dayorama, alongside Ollie, in August 2002.
The idea was that the weblog would allow OJ and Ollie to 'rate
the day' by analysing the day's news and giving the day as a whole
a score for newsworthiness - a sort of Beaufort Scale of news
- between 0 and 12.
It was enough for The Guardian to shortlist Dayorama for the
paper's prestigious Best British Weblog award that year.
Since then, Dayorama has evolved into a personal weblog and OJ's
contributions have gradually diminished in volume. In the time
Dayorama has been live to the world OJ, born in Grimsby on 12
February 1984, has gone from a school in Taunton to the Houses
of Parliament, and he's now back at school establishing a career
in law.
When he does open up, expect more of the above: UK/US politics
and lifestyle, comment on the day's news, and the occasional joke
about buffalo and bison. (You can't wash your hands in a buffalo.)
